The life of Lex

“Today you are You, that is truer than true.

There is no one alive who is Youer than You”

Dr Seuss

For 2018, one of my objectives is to keep a blog. Partly to remind me of where I’ve been and what I’ve done but also so that I can appreciate all the little things that make up my life.

Like most of my generation, I love to travel! I was first bitten by the travel bug whilst at University when I had the opportunity to go anywhere I liked on my elective. Luckily for me, the bank of Mum and Dad were paying and they encouraged me to go to New Zealand and then to add stop-overs in Australia as it was a “once in a lifetime” trip. This was my first time backpacking and I met loads of people with tales of the wonderful places they’d been to and experiences they’d had, so my wanderlust list just got longer and longer.

I’ve volunteered for a year in Ethiopia (, have been back to Australia and New Zealand three times (with a fourth very special trip planned in March where I’m hoping my Dad will join me) and always try to make the most of my annual leave, bank holidays etc.

I live in London and love to be a tourist in my own town. I am an avid theatre go-er and try to make sure I always look up to appreciate the beautiful historical buildings all around us. I also try to explore Britain whenever I can, trying to get away with the boy one weekend a month whenever we can. We are on a mission to find the best Sunday roast in London so will often spend our Sundays encased in a pub appreciating the best of British cuisine!

I plan to write about my travels, general life (books I’ve read, theatre shows, sunday roast reviews etc) as well as my random ramblings on life. Let me know what you want more of and we’ll see how the blog develops as I go!
